A polar bear in the Netherlands!
Florentijn Hofman, known for large and striking works of art, such as the huge floating rubber ducks, introduced a new work of art in early July: the pissing polar bear. The 6-metre-high polar bear stands in the centre of Amersfoort and is part of Museum Flehite's 'Art and Zoo' exhibition to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Dierenpark Amersfoort.

“The polar bear's habitat is shrinking due to global warming. The polar bear has left its habitat and stepped ashore in Amersfoort. The animal is behaving as antisocially as mankind”. That is the message the artist wants to convey with this piece of art.
The polar bear stands out during the day because of its size, and in the dark because of the lighting. For this, the light designers chose the CLS Revo Series. From this extensive IP67-certified fixture series, they selected the CLS Revo Compact Basic and the CLS Revo Basic. Both in a 3000K LED colour, and a 4000K LED colour. With these colours, the polar bear could be set in cold white light and the piss jet clearly lit in a yellow colour, to reinforce the artist's message.

They also chose the Casambi control system, which made it easy to control the lighting. This combination, the properties of the fixtures and the control system made this the perfect solution to illuminate the artwork at night.
Buro Lichtontwerpers was engaged for this lighting design; they ensured that this work of art was beautifully lit.

Revo IP67 Series
The Revo Series is a comprehensive IP67-certified fixture series. Typical applications for this series include lighting facades, gardens, parks, (art) objects, accent lighting and other various possibilities where a compact fixture with a surprisingly high light output is desired. Enjoying Ibiza
Lighting in the garden is what enhances the experience at night. It is therefore very important to carefully consider a suitable lighting solution. This was also the case for this beautiful garden in Ibiza, the island of white beaches, busy nightlife and beautiful villas. After previous positive experiences with CLS fixtures in projects in the Netherlands, the owner of this villa decided to install CLS fixtures in his Ibiza garden as well.

He chose the highly water-resistant and dustproof IP67-certified Revo Series. Due to the extreme weather conditions on the island, over 300 days of bright sunshine interspersed with heavy rain, a quality fixture is very important. The high amount of UV radiation, combined with high humidity, can cause fixtures to corrode quickly.
The CLS Revo Series is of particularly high quality and ensures years of user enjoyment, even in the most extreme weather conditions. The Revo Micro fixture from the Revo Series was selected, with a black coating for subtle placement in the garden. In addition, a warm white 2700K LED colour has been selected to attractively illuminate various elements in this atmospheric garden.

In addition, the Revo Micro fits perfectly in a location like this, as it is equipped with a Gore-Tex membrane in the gland, minimising condensation.
Also, all parts of this fixture are individually easily interchangeable, making it available in more than 200 possible configurations. The fixture is therefore a solid long-term investment.
